PHOTOSWITCHABLE PEPTIDOMIMETICS

In this project, we synthesize peptidomimetics which incorporate a photoisomerizable unit ("switch"). Our focus is on the effect of switching upon physical properties of the peptidomimetic via modulation of its structure.
The project involves synthetic organic chemistry, photochemistry, peptide synthesis, conformational analysis, and various spectroscopic techniques (circular dichroism, NMR spectroscopy).
A prize for 2nd best poster was awarded for the following project presentation (Uppsala University Chemistry Conference, November 2006):
